True to her word, Lady Gaga made a New Year's announcement that should make her many fans very happy! On the night of December 31st, the pop star revealed the official release date for her next album and single. It's all in her Twitter post:

For those of you who don't speak Gaga, that means the song "Born This Way" will come out on February 13th, while the album Born This Way will be released on May 23rd. She also posted what are presumably lyrics from the new song:
I'm beautiful in my way, 'cause God makes no mistakes,
I'm on the right track baby, I was Born This Way.
Don't hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you're set.

Yep, that sounds like Gaga! The singer also posted a twit pic of her half-naked album art for Born This Way, which you can see here (slightly not-safe-for-work). This one will definitely have a sticker over it when it hits the shelves at Wal-Mart.
It's hard to believe that 24-year-old superstar Gaga has only released one full-length studio album so far. The Fame was released two-and-a-half years ago in August 2008, followed by the eight-song EP The Fame Monster in December 2009. Gaga has promised fans that Born This Way will be "the greatest album of this decade," so our expectations are pretty high!
